Darjeeling and Calcutta, names that evoke fond memories of the Raj, are
combined with the quaint hill-state of Sikkim, known for its Buddhist
influence and numerous orchids. This tour is for relaxation in the serene
Himalayas and for those who value romance and nostalgia.
Day 1 : Arrive Kolkata
Arrive at the International airport, our representative will meet you and
escort you to the hotel. Rest for a while and have your lunch. Clear your
tour plan with the guide. In the evening we will guide you to
St. Pauls
cathedral, which has a large cathedral hall with beautifully carved
wooden benches and chairs along with the stained glass window to the west.
The area is also very calm with many trees and a meditation spot. From there
we will take you to Park Street, the famous place for youngsters and foreign
tourists. The place is
famous for restaurants and variety of bookstores.
The restaurants are beautifully decorated with simply fabulous food and
music. Also on the roadside vendors you'll find cigars, original perfumes
and many imported goods from all over the world. We will walk down to the
road towards Park Circus, on the way scenario changes dramatically, from
posh to extreme filthy road, crowded market places. From Park Circus we will
take tram to Esplanade, it will take much of your time but surely an
enjoyable ride. After much of sightseeing return to hotel. Overnight stay at
the hotel.
Day 2 : Kolkata
Early morning put on your shoes and head straight towards Rabindra Sarovar,
popularly known as Dhakuria Lake. It's an experience of itself. You will
witness diverse people doing diverse things. Morning walkers, yoga gurus,
some early morning couples, members of rowing club practices to people laugh
away worries at laughing club. Breakfast in a cozy restaurant at south
Kolkata and after that prepare for sightseeing in and around India's second
largest city. First we will visit Victoria Memorial, museum inside the
memorial is fantastic to watch. From there we will take you to Indian
Botanical ground, where
1000 of different rare trees and plants are
nestled. It's an ideal place for picnickers, you'll observe many
students roaming around for research. From there we'll come back to Kolkata,
which is almost 2 hours journey. We will take you to North Kolkata, which is
at best to observe the tradition and culture. Intricate lanes and bylanes
often intrigued outsiders, old and heritage buildings are still stand strong
in the midst of avant-garde lifestyle. After some walking we will take
steamer to
wander across the Ganges
and feel the beautiful breeze along with an exceptional sightseeing. We will
visit some good restaurant to the one and only Bengali sweets. Bengali love
affair with sweet is legendary, no place in India you'll find such varieties
of desserts. Evening stroll to cultural and regular hangout like Nandan and
Rabindra Sadan. It's a different experience when so many people stroll and
sitting around here and there, its seems like a festival but its very common
to natives. After full day sightseeing we will return to hotel. You will be
served with traditional Bengali cuisines. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 3 : Kolkata- Bhubneswar- Puri
Early morning we will take to Bhubneswar by flight. After arrival we will
take you to pre- booked hotel.
Bhubneswar
is also a great place to tour as it is a place of
more than 500 temples
but due to short time we'll only confine to few ones. First we will guide
you to Rajarani temple also known as 'love temple' , unlike most of the
temples where non-Hindus are not allowed to enter inside to the deity, you
can see aesthetically sculptures graceful feminine figures also temple has
well-maintained garden. From there we will take you to
Khandagiri and Udayagiri caves. Its
two separate caves located nearly 40m above the surrounding lateritic and
infertile plain. Khandagiri has 19 caves and Udayagiri has 44 caves, all of
them depicted the study and life of Jain ascetics of 2nd century BC. After
finishing all the sightseeing, we will transfer you to station to catch a
train to Puri. Bhubaneswar station is like a cauldron of hundreds of frantic
with thousands of their belongings rushing up into the train. Families with
their tiny tots and numerous baggages are in a festive mood.

After
arriving at bustling Puri station you will guided to your hotel.
Puri's
beach is the most crowded but undoubtedly finest in India. From your
hotel you can see the whole white sprawling beach, it's an ideal for water
sports. However, sea can be crude at time therefore, water sports is
recommended if only accompanied by lifeguard. After having breakfast at
hotel, we will take you for sightseeing. Puri is famous for its temples, so
many temples made this city into a pious destination. However, there are
some strict strictures prevail to enter the temple. View of god is only
granted to believers. Muslims and Christians have an option- they can crowd
through the gates to view a lesser image of deity. We will guide you to
Konark temple popularly known as
sun temple, a world heritage site
and a popular tourist destination. The temple takes the form of the chariot
of Surya (Arka), the sun god and is embellished with elegant stone carvings.
Puri is shoppers paradise. There are lots places for shopping in
Puri. From government run emporia to private outlets - shopping joints are
abundance. The main attractions are artifacts out of shells and oysters.
Weaving saris are a traditional craft of Orissa. Also palm leafs painting or
patta chitra is famous craft and high in demand. After having lunch we will
take you to an obscure destination, about 20 minutes by road from Puri, is
village of Raghurajpur,
the only village in the country where everyone
is an artist. This popular art is talapatachitras, vibrant painting on
palm leaves. Today they've become collectors items. In the evening return to
hotel. Enjoy the beach and exotic sea food. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 4 Puri- Kolkata- Bagdogra
Arrive at Kolkata airport in the morning and from there we will catch a
flight to Bagdogra. Bagdogra to Darjeeling we will take you by road or if
you wish we'll take you New Jalpainguri and
from here toy train to
Darjeeling that takes a colorful route lasting about 7 hours. We will
reach Darjeeling in the evening. Rest and acclimatize at the hotel.
Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 5- Darjeeling
Morning we will guide you to 'Tiger Hills', it is the highest peak in
Darjeeling.
Kanchenjunga and glimpse of mount Everest can be best
seen from this point. However, climate is the decisive factor, early morning
many people come to visit the place to have a glimpse of colossal mountains.
Breakfast at hotel and prepare for whole day sightseeing around Darjeeling.
First we will take ropeway to have a bird eye view of whole town. Ropeway
connects north point to singla bazaar. From there we will guide you too
Japanese peace pagoda, which shows various stages of Buddha's life. Ghoom
monasteries is must see for any tourist, its 2 km from Darjeeling. Also it's
the highest railway station in the world. Lunch at any good restaurant,
Darjeeling offers the choice of Continental, Indian, Chinese, Tibetan,
Nepali and Bengali cuisines. Few minutes walk from Chowrasta, natural
history museum, which has a collection of butterflies, moths, reptiles and
birds. Sightseeing will be incomplete without visiting Padmaja Naidu
Himalayan Zoological Park, it is a home for some rare wildlife. Siberian
tiger, deer panda, llama and various rare and exotic birds are present here.
Evening is will be booked for shopping. The star buy is the tea. Other
attraction areTibetan handicraft, tankas (Tibetan scrolls, gorkha
khukris(knives, woollen knitwear and locally made carpets. Return to hotel
and overnight stay.
Day 6 - Darjeeling- Gangtok
After breakfast drive to
Gangtok, which
will take about 4 hours. After having lunched at hotel we will take you to
marketplace. Road is in pretty good condition. You can browse various item
like
Tibetan artifacts, paintings, metal works and many more. From
there we will take you 'Institute of Tibetology' that has rare collection of
antiques, rare scriptures and gorgeous paintings. It is a center of Tibetan
language and literature. Deer park is also a good place to be visited, from
there you can have a full view of valley against the backdrop of colossal
Kanchenjunga. From Gangtok will have an outing to Pelling, which is 125 km
away. Pelling is a beautiful and favorite excursion site. Khechopari
lake,Rimbi waterfalls, Kanchenjunga waterfalls, Sigshore bridge, Dentam
Bazaar and Yuksam are famous places to visit.After much of sightseeing
return to hotel in Darjeeling. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 7- Darjelling- Kalimpong
After having your breakfast at hotel morning drive to Kalimpong, along the
way you you'll see forest range in Siliguri adorning theTeesta river.
Kalimpong is somehow neglected tourist spot, but it is blessing in disguise
as the place is less crowded. Lonely roads and fresh air can be best enjoy
by walking down the roads. Kalimpong has many monasteries, we will take you
to visit Gompa monasteries, which is the oldest one and the largest. Journey
will be incomplete without visiting the nurseries, which are the
greatest
USPs of Kalimpong. Hiking along the Teesta valley is possible most of
the year. You can do various options like river rafting, forest exploration,
river pool swimming and perhaps visit to photogenic ethnic villages. Despite
of being a small town, Kalimpong has plenteous alternatives to satisfy
hunger of shopping freaks. You can find Bhutia crafts, hand beaten
silver,wood carving, tangkha paintings, Chinese lantern and many more...
Kalimpong is an also known for 'mouth watering' Tibetan cuisines. Kalimpong
muck up you with steaming momo, thukpa, chow and other delicious dishes.

Day 8: Kalimpong- Bagdogra- Kolkata
Early morning after breakfast we will drive you to Bagdogra airport. From
their flight to Kolkata. Our representative will meet at you airport and
transfer you to hotel. Evening at your leisure , if you wish we can arrange
you for a small sightseeing. Overnight stay at hotel.
