Swaddled

Enchey Monastery
Located close to tourist lodge, Enchey Monastery is about 3 kms from the
centre of the town. Enchey Monastery is around 200 year old and is worth
visiting. If you are visiting Gangtok in the month of December, then don't
forget to attend the religious dances performed here.
Orchid Sanctuary
Orchid Sanctuary is a famous for its extensive collections of orchids. The
sanctuary collections also varies depending on the seasons. Here you would
find around 454 species of Orchid which are spread dynamically over Sikkim.
Tsuk
la Khang
You just cannot happen to miss Tsuk La Khang. This is one of the largest
depository of scriptures and is one of the famous places of worship. They
are also characterized by the beautiful and impressive edifice which are
covered by the lavish interiors, decorated altars or images of Buddha. The
monastery remain open throughout the year for general public and tourist
during Losar, a famous dance festival of India.
Phodang Monastery
Phodang Monastery at Thumlung which is 40 kms North of Gangtok. It is the
most beautiful monastery of Sikkim and has around 260 monks and some old
mural paintings.
Rumtek Monastery
Located 24 kms away from Gangtok, Rumtek Monastery is an ancient structure
erected in 1717 and then reerrected in 1960. Monastery is generally covered
with murals, Tibetan paintings, tankhas and frescos.

By Air : Gangtok does not have a airport of its own. The
nearest destination that you could reach is Bagdogra and you can book its
tickets from Indian Airlines on Tibet Road in Gangtok.
By Rail :Siliguri at Gangtok is the nearest railhead.
Siliguri is well connected to other major metros of the city.
By Road : The busiest route in and out of Sikkim is the
road between Gangtok and Siliguri
