Popularly
known as the Palace of the Winds, Hawa Mahal was costructed in 1799.
Significantly, Hawa Mahal is one of the
Jaipur's
major landmarks, although it is actually little more than a façade.
This five-storey buildings, which looks out over the main street of the old
city, is perfect model of Rajput carftsmanship with its pink, semioctagonal
and delicately honeycombed sandstone facades. Hawa Mahal was especially
created for the regal queens princess to watch the processions on the
streets.
Veronica August, a traveller from Europe, said Amidst the
local bazaar of the Jaipur, I found a palace which silentely stands on
wheels on time. I wondered this palace would have seen all. Made in red
sandstone adds beauty to the mystic edifice.

Hawa Mahal is said to be designed by Lal Chand Ustad. Hawa Mahal is a five
storeyed, pyramid shaped structure with around 953 small casements. The
entrance to Hawa Mahal is from City Palace side
Hawa Mahal Revamp:
Rajasthan Government have decided to revamp Hawa Mahal at an expediture of
70 mn. Soon you would also see a museum which would display ancient idols
recovered from antique smugglers.
Amber Fort
Perched on the rugged hills outside of town sits ancient forts, where the
Jaipur royal house held court for seven centuries. Visitors riding painted
elephants can ascend to the fort to see the magnificent gateways,
courtyards, pavilions, and a gliterring chamber of inlaid mirrors.
City Palace
Located in Jaipur, the City Palace is one of the most important landmarks.
The palace complex has numerous buildings, courtyards, impressive gateways
and temples. It occupies one seventh of the walled city of Jaipur and the
buildings are built with a blend of Rajput and Mughal architecture.

You would spend some good moments here. The mahal is a heritage piece and
the a charm of the present day. Accumulate all that you can as when the
moment would pass you would be left with nothing on hand.
As Veronica says Hawa Mahal to be was something which I
think was very important on my Jaipur Tour. I cannot think that trip would
have been with Hawa Mahal in my itinerary.
