The Fairy Queen
The fairy queen is the oldest working broad gauge steam locomotive in the
world and was built in the year 1855 by the British firm Kinston, Thompson &
hewitson for the British firm east India railways. This train will have only
a first class (non - airconditioned) chair car having 50 seats and a pantry
car for on board catering. The traditional reception and a cultural evening
will be organized on the evening Of day 01 at the hotel..
Day 1 (Saturday)
09.00 hrs : Traditional Reception - Delhi Cantt. station.
10.00 hrs : Fairy Queen off to Tiger Country; Light snacks; Lunch on board.
15.00 hrs : Arrival Alwar Station; Traditional Rajasthani Reception;
15.15 hrs : Departure Alwar Station by A/c Bus.
15.45 hrs : Evening at Hotel Lake Palace, Siliserh.
18.45 hrs : Departure for Tiger Den at Sariska.
20.00 hrs : Traditional welcome at Tiger Den-Sariska; Cultural Programme &
07.00 hrs : Departure for Tiger Sanctuary on Jeeps.
09.00 hrs : Breakfast at Tiger Den.
11.15 hrs : Departure for Alwar/Alwar Museum.
13.00 hrs : Fairy Queen leaves Alwar; Welcome drink; Lunch, light
refreshment on board.
18.30 hrs : Fairy Queen arrives Delhi Cantt.

Northern Railways has introduced a
new narrow gauge luxury train between Pathankot and Palampur in Himachal
Pradesh to cover the 128 kms in four hours and 25 minutes.
At a maximum speed of 33 km per hour, this ' toy train' treks across
plains, plantations and verdant hills of the Nilgiris. The fragrance of
eucalyptus lies heavy in the air. The 16 tunnels and tall girder bridges on
the way, along with the breathtaking view, make this toy train journey to
Ooty, something not to be missed.
Ooty is connected by a narrow gauge line from Mettupalayam, which serves as
the railhead for mainline trains.
The most famous of the little trains, is the one linking the town of New
Jalpaiguri in the plains to the lovely hill station of Darjeeling perched on
the awesome Himalayas.
The 86 km Darjeeling line allows the traveller an uninterrupted view of the
awe inspiring vista of the Himalayas.
Access to Darjelling
New Jalpaiguri, the starting point of the hill train to Darjeeling, has
direct connections to Calcutta, Delhi, Guwahati and other places in India by
rail and air.
Close to the business city of Mumbai, Matheran is connected to Neral on
Mumbai - Pune main line which provides tremendous tourist attraction.
Journey by Toy Train to Matharan takes about one and a half hours. The toy
train runs between sunrise and sunset and is not run during the monsoons.
