"There
is one God; mankind is one; the foundations of religion are one" - Bahá'í
Holy Writings. This is the thought on which the structure of Lotus Temple
was based. Lotus Temple or Bahai Temple is the newest most extravagant
architectural wonder of the Bahai faith, located in Kalkaji, south of Delhi.
The temple in white is shaped like a half opened lotus flower. Made of
marble, cement, dolomite and sand, the Lotus Temple is a marvel of 20th
century architecture. The lotus shaped temple in a modern and contemporary
form captivates into its sanctum sanctorum people from all races, religious
backgrounds and culture from around the globe. It represents the Bahai
faith, - an independent world religion; divine in origin, all embracing in
scope, broad in its outlook, scientific in its method, humanitarian in its
principles, and dynamic in the influence.
It is a concrete white flower on Delhi grounds. It is
astonishingly beautifull and nestles itself quietly in dusky Delhi
said by the Charlie Dsouza, a poetess in Dutch country.

Spend some peaceful time in Lotus Temples of New Delhi. Amidst the serene
environ, it gives you a calm place to meditate. Make the most of this time
Well, I meditated there for around six hrs. On completion, I came
out as stronger person with a new zeal to explore the temple ,
as Charlie eulogised the temple.
The ISKCON Temple
ISKCON Temple is situated at East of Kailash in Delhi, very close to the
Lotus Temple. It is an ideal place for people in search of peace and solace.
Sitting amongst Lord Krishna and his devotees with chants of Hare Krishna
going around is indeed an outstanding experience.
From a restaurant to a museum, a library and a special animatronics show,
ISKCON has it all.
Red Fort
The massive citadel was built by Shahajahan in the year 1648. This fort is
the place from where, the Prime Minister of India addresses the people of
India on the Independence Day Celebration.
Qutub Minar
The tallest tower monument built by Qutub-Ud-Din-Aibak is situated in
Meherauli, south of Delhi. The Iron Pillar located near the tower is another
attraction worth a visit.

There would be an array of moments which would captivate your mind and
would leave you totally astound. Years later when you would remember Delhi,
you wont forget your trip to Lotus Temple.
I liked the place. Mainly becoz, it was its tranquality. It gave
me space to sit down and jot down some poetic lines. added Dsouza
