We have customized different pilgrimage tours and so
we created South India Temple tours. South India can boast off and say - it
has largest number of temples. Since we wanted to give you the best,
we happened to cover few of the famous destinations of South India which are
known pilgrimage destinations. Pick this package and embark your journey to
the zone of sacred temples.
Day 01 : Arrive Chennai
You would arrive at Chennai airport. Our representative would be waiting
for you at the arrival lounge. From there on he would take care of all your
travel needs. He would transport you and your baggage to the preboked hotel.
We would best of the hotel for you (depending on the budget/requirement).
You would get a warm welcome by the hotel staff. Spend your night in the
same hotel, sleeping.
Day 02 : In Chennai
This would be your first day in the tour. We would arrange a guided
sightseeing tour for you. Some of the famous tourist attractions that we are
going to cover on our Chennai tour are Theosophical Society, Kaapeleshwar
temple, Sri Partha Sarathy Temple and Santhomre Cathedral Church.
Parthasarthy Temple is dedicated to Lord Krishna and was constructed by
Pallavas. It is said to be the oldest surving temple in Chennai. Later in
the evening we would try to get hold a cultural programme in the city.
Resort back to hotel where delcious food would be served. Overnight stay in
the hotel.
Day 03 : Chennai - Kanchipuram
Kanchipuram is 75 kms from Chennai. We would have booked a good hotel for
you in Kanchipuram. It would merely take approx 2 hrs to reach the abode
from Chennai. We would start our expedition after breakfast. Since we are on
our pilgrimage tour we would cover several temples like Sakkiswarar Temple,
Vaikuntha Perumal Temple, Kailasanatha Temple. The temple tour in
Kanchipuram would be inevitably spiritually enlighting. Pilgrimage tour in
South India is considered to be the best. According to beliefs, Kanchipuram
is the place where Goddess Kamakshi manifested herself in her fiery aspect.
This abode once housed more than thousand temles and now with the changing
scene is left with only less than tenth. The abode of thousand temples
either can be hurredly seen in one day or leisurely in three days. On your
Kanchipuram tour, you would get a chance to admire the sculptures, feed
fishes in the temple tanks, visit temples which spans over the famous temple
tanks. We would return to our hotel where our food would be served.
Overnight stay in the hotel.
Day 04 : Kanchipuram - Mahablipuram
This morning we would leave for Kanchipuram to Mahabalipuram. Mahabalipuram
is another important destination of South India. Resort to a booked hotel.
After breakfast, we would leave for our sightseeing tour. The tour would
involve exploration of various tourist attractions. In between, if possible,
we would visit the beach. This would indeed be relaxing and would definitely
tone your tiredness. We would return late in the evening and would recommend
that you pack your bags and as the next day we would leave for
Tiruvannamalai.
Day 05: In Tiruvannamalai
On fifth day, we would leave our Kanchipuram hotel to Tiruvannamalai. It is
considered the temple town of the South India with over 100 big and small
temples. We would start for this destination after having our breakfast and
in midway we would halt for some restaurant to have more of snacks. One of
the most popular temples of Tiruvanamalai is Mt Arunachala. It is a linga of
Lord Shiva. We would visit the famous Ramanashram which is located 2 kms
southwest of the town. We assure you that the temples you would explore here
would be the best. The variegated temple architectural style would leave you
spell bound and you would just love to behold the beauty of these temples in
your eyes forever. Late evening we would resort back to our hotel, where our
food would be served.
Day 06: Tiruvannamalai - Auroville
We would leave Tiruvannamalai to Auroville. Auroville is a national town
which is located 10 kms north of Pondicheery. The abode is quite popular for
its
Ayurveda &
Meditation treatment as well. The universal
town was constructed in 1968. Under the aegis of mother, a paries - born
painter-musician. He was earlier a disciple and then became a close
companion of Sri Aurobindo. Since the place is located an altitude, it gives
a fulfilling experience. Whatever time we would spend here would be quite
relaxing as we would take it as a relaxation zone of India. We would try to
explore Auroville but in a relaxed mood. Probably walking down the hill side
would be a good idea to capture the scenic view of the station. Return back
to hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 7 : In Auroville
This would be our second day in Auroville and we would utilize it in a best
way possible. We would start after breakfast. Early morning we would visit
the Matrimandir. The complex is christined into different meditation rooms.
It has a special Banyan tree area. This is a silent place where people come
for meditation. Visitors who are just the casual visitors would only be
allowed to enter the amphitheatre of the Matrimandir. For becoming the guest
visitor, you would have to stay in Auroville for about a week or so. Return
back to hotel for your food.
Day 08 : Auroville - Madurai
From Auroville, we would visit
Madurai,
another pilgrimage destination down south. We would book your room in
Madurai and our representative who would be along with you will take you to
the nearest hotel. We would relax on this day.
Day 09 : Madurai
In the morning, after breakfast, we would start our expedition. Madurai is
a scenic destination and it is a touristic zone of India. Of the most
popular is the 16 acre Meenakshi temple complex which has around 33 million
sculptures. It is central to Madurai's topography and mindscape. The
majestic gopurams of Meenakshi temple marks it as different temple. The
temple itself would take 3 hrs and it is one the highly rated temples of
Madurai. Don't forget to purchase a map ( Rs 5) from the temple office
counter at the entrance. Then we would visit the Thousand Pillar Hall and
Museum which is a statue of the temple architect. Slowly and steadily, you
would realize that your pilgrimage tour is coming out to be informative.
Late evening we would return to relish delicious dishes in our resort
restaurant. You cn try out various South Indian dishes. Most of the South
Indian dish comprises of Idli, Sambhar and Dosa. Overnight stay at the
hotel.
Day 10 : Madurai - Rameshwaram
After a breakfast drive, we would leave for Rameshwaram. It is an island
hallowed by the Ramayana. In the evening, we would visit the Ramanatha Swami
temple, which is close to the sea on the eastern side of the island. The
island is quite popular for its splendorous corridors and massive pillars
lining them. Return back to hotel for an overnight stay.
Day11
: Rameshwaram
Rameshwaram is also 12 jyotirlingas shrines in the country. As a part of
Rameshwaram travel, we would cover some fascinating tourists attractions
which would include Ramanathaswamy Temple, Kothandaraswamy Temple and
Gandhamadana Parvatam. You would find a day too less to explore Rameshwaram.
Rameswaram have been when Lord Rama was here. If possible we would take you
to Agnitirtham, a shallow tank. A dip in the shallow salty water would be
pure joy. Return back to hotel for an overnight stay. Enjoy the dishes
served.
Day 12 : Rameshwaram - Chennai
From Rameshwaram, we would move to Chennai. This day we would try to cover
other aspect of Rameshwaram and at night we would transfer you to the
railway station, from where you would leave for Chennai. Overnight stay in
Chennai
Day 13 : Delhi
From Chennai, you could leave for Delhi. Continue your journey from Delhi.
