Despite of India steadily advance to modern technologies still it modern
India is strongly rooted to is cultural past. India is a place where
tradtional therapies have existed side by side with modern technology.
Ayurveda is one of many holistic approach gifted by ancient saints and
practioners of India.
Ayurvedic treatment based on natural element of earth, water, fire, air and
ether (space) which bring out three 'doshas'. Vata (air and ether), pitta
(fire and water) and kapha (earth and water). According to ayurveda human
constitution is made up of a combination of two doshas, in which one may be
prominent. Ayurveda is essentially a boon to beauty care and it is growing
popular in western world also. Such as herbs like Shikakai (acacia concinna)
and Arishtak (Indian soapnut) have been tradtionally used for washing the
hair. Trifala, a combination of three herbs, has varied uses, from washing
the hair to curing the eye ailments and digestive disorders and soothing
coughs and inflammations. Trifala is made up of three herbs, that are amla,
haritaki(terminalis Chebula) and vibhitika (Terminalis Belerica).
We all know about the benefits of sandalwood, which is most most salient
feature in beauty care. It is most versatile of all natural products. It
soothes the skin and beautifies it. Modern research reveals that it purifies
the air. Rose water with sandalwood powder help to tone the skin, improve
blood circulation and help skin texture. It is mainly used in stress related
skin and hair conditions, along with sandalwood, jasmine, orange flower and
brahmi.
Ayurvedic beauty care is gaining recognization in International market and
soon become a billion dollar industry. There are several companies coming up
with variety of herbal products but still it has to compete with the strong
market hold of synthetic cosmetic products and grip over the market.
