Dark intersecting lanes of Mumbai, no trace of people anywhere but
somewhere in the dark alleys, city cry in a teeming voice. Enter through a
solitary night club dotting in a corner of the street, gosh! Life suddenly
changed dramatically. Ambiance is strikingly different from outside, people
shake their bodies without exercising anything, sleep is miles away from
their eyes and music play in tandem with some cult songs. Also there are
people whose idea of enjoying is standing before a counter and slowly and
gradually sipping, watching other’s frenzy movements and sinking in
their own mind.
Urban Indian life is no more peaceful. Nightclubs and discos are sprouting
fast in almost every corner of the city. Busy metros like Bangalore, Mumbai
,Delhi and Kolkata has their own tinge and flavor but the thread that binds
every club is whirring light, simmering dresses, spirit flows in the form of
cocktail, mocktail, beer and every imaginable drink. And of course the
electrifying music, jazz,rock,hip hop and the mixes that tear apart your
soul and force you to forget about everything but to plunge yourself in
another world.
Nightclubs and pubs predominantly rule the metros. Mumbai has the highest
number of night clubs and longer stay on the other hand Chennai with its
typical orientation has the shortest stay in the club. In Mumbai clubs like
Zenzy,Insomniac,Enigma,squeeze have got great ambiance, great service and
awesome music. Even at Prive, “the club for 30s”, there is a bowl
in the bathroom that has condoms. The idea is to stock up essentials for
your big night out. The variation of crowd in Mumbai is superb and much of
the club witness celebrities from Bollywood and fashion world. On the
contrary, Bangalore receives most of the young guns with little or none
lounge lizards. Discos like Waves Pub, Sherlock Holmes, Oxygen and Pecos are
famous for young crowd with lots of noise and electrifying music. Most of
the Bangalore pubs and discos don’t play Hindi songs and hard rock
rules. Nightlife of Delhi has its own charm although most of the bars,pubs
and discos close at 2 am. The best way to seek good dance floors are in the
hotels that presumably has a private club and bar. Kolkata with its strong
cultural make up strikingly different ambiance in the discos. Most of the
discos open whole night and do not have stag entries.
Every discos and pubs in India almost have same fashion expressions. Follow
the simple rule of fashion. Whatever in, flaunt it! For girls short skirts
with halters are cool or flaunt yourself with low waist jeans with
sleeveless top. But tank tops especially white have no place in club scene.
For men its best to wear dressy shirt with jeans and formal shoes. Sneakers
should be left in the cupboard.
