Gods own country that what is commonly said about Kerala is more
meaningful if you reach Wayanad, north of Kerala (70 KM from Calicut
airport). The name derived from two words Wayal (Paddy Field)
and Nadu (Place). The lush green forest, sprinkling waterfalls,
the heavenly climate, reasons why the national Geographic channel had put
Wayanad among the 100 best destinations to be visited. One of the peculiar
features of Wayanad is its virgin forest which comes under the Sanctuary of
wild life protection. A nights stay on the tree shelters is a
memorable experience.
