In Hinduism spiritual words or mantras have deep implications. It can
create a divine communication with the God. The magical chants transcending
to the higher realms through divine conjurations and nobody still to unravel
the mystic power of words.
In Hindu dharma words are revered and considered having magical power.
Mantras are the words that enhance the spiritual development of body and
mind. It works on the soul, which according to Hindu dharma is ultimate
reality. People dies and rebirth but their their soul never dies. Mantras
the spiritual vehicle from there one can gain enough spiritual enlightenment
and self-knowledge to escape from the cycle of reincarnation and achieve
moksha or liberation.
One of the revered symbol of Hinduism is Om. Its a highly
auspicious word or syllable is depicted as a pictorial figure. The three
shapes symbolizes the creation, maintenance and destruction of the universe
and thus the holy Trimurti. The inverted chandra (crescent or half moon)
represents the discursive mind and dot or Bindu within it a Brahman, the
ultimate reality; the creator according to Hinduism. Om word is not only
venerated in Hinduism but also in Buddhism. Buddhists believe that continues
repetition with full concentration leads to complete blissful void in the
mind.
The concept of Mantra first came in Hinduism and Buddhism where it
represent a sacred formula for a particular supreme being. Repetition of
particular Mantra or sacred words creates a positive and spiritual energy
for the deity to reveal itself. A Mantra is not confined to any shape or
structure but it can be a phrase like Gayatri Mantra or a word like Om
(pronounced as Aum).
In Hinduism Mantra are categorized into three groups that is Vedic Mantras,
Tantric Mantras and Puranic Mantras. These are further divided into
Sattvikka,Rajasika and Tamasika Mantras and chanted for different
objectives. These mantras are chanted for different reasons such as for
inner illumination, divine grace, self realization or sometimes even appease
evil spirits to destroy or harm other. The most spiritual Mantra is in the
category of Sattavikka that is believed to relieve man from the bondage of
life and death.
Mantras are not easy to learn and demand high level of concentration and
devotion. Its also have a scientific reason behind it. Mantra is repeating
sound or verses that propel through the whole mind. Basically, its a sound
energy that vibrate and infuse energy to the system. The Mantra concept is
actually a mysterious combination of metaphysics and science. In a daily
life also one can experience the power of Mantra. It improves the
concentration, eliminate selfishness, self justification, improve
respiration and make people soft and well mannered. In human being there are
always two types of energy acting inside the mind. One acts according to
seven cardinal sins that are lust, gluttony, wrath, sloth, pride, greed and envy
and seduces human to earthly desire. Another energy always act to counter
the other force. Mantras only enhance the positive part of human nature and
fortify firmness of character.
