I have recently visited the shrine of khwaja Moinnuddin Chisti at Ajmer in
Rajasthan. This is a very old Shrine which was build during 9th century.
Khwaja Moinnuddin Chisti was one of the Spiritual leaders of Islam who came
to India from Saudia Arabia in order to propagate the religion Islam. He
arrived at the sub-continent during the regime of Kind Jaychand. In the
court of Kind Jaychand, There was a magician cum sorcerer Yogi Jaipal to
whom Moinnnuddin Chisti had to face. An episode of rendezvous and ordeal
between Khawaja moinnnuddin Chisti and Yogi Jaipal came to a halt, When Yogi
started for his Heavenly abode. Thereafter Moinnnundin Chisti emerged as the
conqueror and people of that region and even yogi Jaipal recognized his
spiritual power and became his disciple bowing down before him.
The shine of Khwaja Moinnuddin Chisti grabs the attention of the pilgrims
due to its aesthetic beauty and gardens. It is typical architecture which
reflects the tinge of medivomodern art. Its beauty extols because it is made
up of lime stones. It is surrounded by mountains. People irrespective of
cast creed and religion gather here through out the year. But in salana urs
annual celebration, there is a huge crown across the world. Every people who
visit that place there homage by bowing down the shine.
This shine is a dual destination of spiritual center as well as historical
monument for the travelers. Travelers should visit there to enjoy the
natural scenery of Ajmer to get the spiritual lesson as well as the
blessings of Garib Nawaj.
