Thar DesertThe world’s seven largest desert is arid and undoubtedly, godforsaken area in Indo-Pacific region, is also known as ‘Great Indian Desert’. Continues ups and down often scare first timer but at the same time journey on camel back across the wide desert is indeed memorable. You can make your travel plan in and around different cities like Jaisalmer, Bikaner and Jodhpur. From the Nawalgarh town you can set-off on a ten hour camel safari and stay overnight at Mandawa village.

Saddled Cruise- If you are tiring of riding the same animal and need a desperate change, horse is the next best thing you can opt for. With an exciting horse safari, you can explore the interior of Rajasthan, where the scanty forested cover with lush countrysides are ideal for a nice jaunt. Horses has some advantage; it is fast, it can move easily through muddy countryside and above all they are easily manageable. Most of the horse tour starts from Kumbhalgarh and Shekhawati and passing across the Udaipur-Haldighati-Kumbhalgarh circuit or the Kumbhalgarh-Ranakpur passageway.

Thar desert is devilishly hot. So, avoid heading out in the summer. Walk in the morning or late afternoon when sun blazing is not so intense.

Don’t count on finding water. There are places where you can find spring, fill your bottles and always carry at least one gallon per person.

Biting flies are hard to beat. Carry a good insect repellent.

Always spot a hat and sunglasses. Use a good quality of sunscreen with high SPF.

It is advisable to take care of your automobile before venturing into a rally safari.

Stay out of mines. Old mines are tempting but these are dangerous traps. There are deep shafts could wind up you at the bottom.

Quick thunderstorms is a usual act. Keep your eye skyward before venturing into an expedition. Always avoid thunderstorm.
