Dodina Thimphu- Paro
Day
01 : Paro
On arrival at Paro you will be received by our executive with the warm
welcome and transferred to the resort in Paro. In the afternoon spend time
at leisure. In the evening go for the sightseeing tour and explore the local
markets. Overnight stay at the Resort.
Day 2 : Paro - Taktsang monastery
After the morning breakfast on the 2nd day we will begin our trekking
expedition from the Taktsang monastery also known as the Tiger's nest. On
the trekking tour we will provide you the facility of free guide to instruct
you at every moment. This also gives you the opportunity to have better
insight of the whole town. On the trek route enjoy the panoramic view of the
pine forests. You will also encounter the beautiful wilderness of the
kingdom. There will be lots of monkeys to greet you in between the tour. We
have also arranged the small horse riding trip for you. The only idea of
exploring the attractions of the town on the horse back can mesmerize you.
In between we will stop for the light refreshment at the Taktsang Jakhang,
which is a small cafeteria. After rest we will enchant with the local people
speaking Dzongkha (one of the major language spoken in Bhutan). On the tour
we will also experience the cultural treasury of the rural life of the
Bhutan. After the day long wandering we will be taking dinner at the foot
hills of the monastery. Than we will stroll back to the resort for the
overnight stay. .
Day 03 : Taktsang monastery - Drugyel Dzong
On the 3rd day of the tour we will get up early in the morning and after
breakfast we will move towards the Drugyel Dzong. As we begin our next trek
from the Drugyel Dzong we will pass through the scattered hamlets and
farmlands. There you will meet yak herders grazing their animals. You may
also encounter the small kids roaming in the fields barefooted. This route
leads to the Pa chu river. Witness the vast rice terraces and fields of
millets in between the trek route. Here you will get the opportunity to
glimpse nomads life. Than we will take small tea and snacks break and relax
for some time. Then we will go for the river rafting and kayaking in the Pa
chu river. After enjoying the thrills of the river rafting we will take some
rest and prepare ourself for the onward journey. After the short descend you
will reach the Shana camp site We will provide you the two person sleeping
tent along with all other relevant facilities. Enjoy the good meal and chat
with the other tourists as well as the local people. Your night stay will be
arranged in the camp.
Day 04: Drugyel Dzong - Soi Thangthangkha
After the morning breakfast on the 4th day of the tour we trek from Shana
campsite to the Soi Thangthangkha. It is one of the ideal adventure trek
which takes you through the pine, oak and spruce forests. Experience the
serenity of the mountains as well as the hustle and bustle of the of the
small villages. In between you will enjoy the beautiful sights of the
nature. The quite and calm environment relax and rejuvenates you completely.
You will get the exceptional opportunity to contact with the Bhutanese rural
life. There after we will take break for picnic lunch along side the river.
Witness the spectacular view of the mountains that meet the clouds. Engage
yourself in birding, you may find large species of birds at this place.
After bird watching and some more sightseeing we will move towards the
campsites arranged by the Garhwal Himalayan expedition. Night stay and
dinner will be arranged in the camp.
Day 05 : Soi Thangthangkha - Jangothang
In the early morning hours of the 5th day we will head to Jangothang from
Soi Thangthangkha. After the short walk we will reach a village called
Jampu. From here you will enjoy the stunning view of the mountains. Spend
time with the local people and know about their cultural and lifestyle.
Experience how these people spend their daily routine and how do they earn
their lively hood. Watch the small huts made of bamboo sticks and mud. Taste
the flavour of the yak milk cheese served by the women of the village. Know
much more about the festivals celebrated in this region. Share the wonderful
moments with the farmers and herders. Capture these precious moments in your
handycam. You can also take a sightseeing tour of the village on the
bicycle. Then we will move forward. Occasionally we will pass by the
solitary houses built on the hilltops. In the evening hours enjoy fishing at
the Tshophu lake. Lastly after the long day adventure we will reach the old
ruins of the fort known as Jangothang at an altitude of 4050 m. Enjoy the
superb view of the Chomolhari and Jichu Drake. Night stay and dinner
arrangements are made at the Jangothang.
Day 6 : Jangothang - Lingshi Dzong
Indulge in nature walk in the morning hours of the 6th day. After breakfast
we will step out from Jangothang to Lingshi. The trial follows the glacier
stream and crosses the narrow wooden bridge. Then we will climb up to the
Nyele la pass 4700 meters. You may spot blue sheep and musk deer along the
trek route. We will trek through the wide yak pastures. As you come down to
the Lingshi basin, you get the wonderful view of the Lingshi Dzong.
Tsherimgang and its descending glaciers at the north end of the valley are a
constant sight. You can see the number of medicinal plants in this area.
Overnight stay at the camp.
Day
7 : Lingshi Dzong - Shodu
Lot of adventure is on the cards of the 7th day of the tour. From Lingshi
we will move towards the Shodu for the onward trekking tour. It is the most
difficult trek of the tour. Today we will climb to Yeli la pass at 4,
820 m. From the pass, you can get an excellent view of Jhomolhari, Tserim
Gang and Masagang on a clear day. Enjoy the magnificent view of the forests
fully filled with the rhododendrons and waterfalls. On the way notice the
unique cultural dress code of the local people. During the night we will
have hot dinner served in the camp, which is the stone shelter, just below
the ruined fortress.
Day 8 : Shodu - Barshong
After breakfast we will start early trekking xepedition from Shodu to
Barshong on the 8th day of the tour. On the way we will confront with the
muddy path. The path follows the Thimchu river descending through the
Juniper and pine forests. We will also have close encounter with the black
necked cranes in between the trek route. You may also spot the snow leopards
in the jungles. The trial gradually ascends to the ruins of the Barshong
Dzong reaching the camp at 35oo meters. Enjoy the dinner along with the
cultural dance during the night. Overnight stay will be in camp at Barshong.
Day 9: Barshong - Dodina - Thimphu
9th day is the last trekking day of the tour. After breakfast get ready to
move towards the Dodina from Barshong. Here you will have a view of the high
ridges and snow capped mountains. You may see the winter house of the yak
herders. We will stop at the certain point and will share a cup of yak
butter tea with them. You may also buy the dried yak cheese from here. On
reaching the Dodina our coach will be waiting for your return. From ther we
will drive towards Thimphu. Overnight stay and dinner will be served in the
hotel at Thimphu.
Day 10 : Thimphu
10th full day of the tour has been reserved for sightseeing in Thimphu.
Tashichhodzong, Simtokha Dzong, Memorial Chorten, National Library,
Traditional Painting School, Traditional Medicine Institute, Heritage Museum
are some of the prime attractions at Thimphu which we would be covering on
this particular day. In the evening we will drive to Paro. Overnight stay at
the resort in Paro.
Day 11: Departure
In the morning of the 11th day of the tour our representative will reach at
the resort to transfer you to the airport for your onward journey.
